01
Organisation
- 30 x 25 m grid, two neutral players play with the team in possession.
- Coach with footballs on the sideline.
- Bibs in two colours, neutrals in a third colour.
02
Rules
- Team in possession: 8 consecutive passes = 1 point.
- Winning the ball back within 5 seconds of losing it = 2 points.
- If unsuccessful within 5 seconds: coach calls 'stop' and the team drops off.
- Neutral players are restricted to a maximum of 2 touches.
03
Coaching points
- Nearest player immediately presses the ball.
- Second and third players lock down the short passing options.
- Can't win it back? Drop off together and get compact.
- In possession: maintain good distances (rest defence) to counter-press effectively if the ball is lost.
04
Variations
- Easier: allow 3 seconds of extra time to win the ball back.
- Harder: remove the neutral players (straight 5v5).
- With mini-goals: score immediately into one of four mini-goals upon regaining possession.
