6v3 Possession Game: Playing Between the Lines
Drag players or the ball · 2D and 3D
01
Organisation
- Two adjacent boxes with 3 attackers in each box.
- Three defenders: two pressing in the active zone, one in the middle.
- A narrow 5m central channel where one attacker can drop in to receive.
02
Rules
- Switching the ball to the other box via a player in the central channel = 1 point.
- Aerial or long balls over the central channel do not count.
- On transition/turnover, the three defenders swap roles with the three attackers who lost possession.
03
Coaching points
- Player between the lines: position yourself on the blind side of the defenders.
- Scan over your shoulder before receiving so you can turn immediately on the half-turn.
- Active box: circulate possession until the passing lane opens up, do not force the pass.
- Break the line with a firm, well-weighted pass.
04
Variations
- Easier: 7v3.
- Harder: 6v4 with two defenders in the central channel.
- After scoring a point, the receiver can finish into a mini goal immediately.
