Organisation
- • 10 x 10 m grid, four players on the outside, two in the middle.
- • Multiple footballs ready on the perimeter for quick restarts.
- • Work in groups of 6; rotate the defenders after each set.
Rules
- • Outside players: maximum 2 touches.
- • A split pass between both defenders counts as 1 point.
- • If a defender wins the ball, they swap with the player who turned it over.
- • 10 consecutive passes = bonus point.
Coaching points
- • Always provide two passing options for the player on the ball: left and right.
- • Play into the back foot, away from pressure.
- • Read the defenders: if they are set wide, play through the lines.
- • Defenders: one presses the ball, the other covers and screens the central pass.
Variations
- • Easier: 5v2 or enlarge the grid (12 x 12 m).
- • Harder: 1 touch or 4v3 in a 12 x 12 m grid.
- • Transition: defenders score by dribbling the ball out of the grid.
