Organisation
- • Pitch measuring 45 x 35 m with two full-size goals.
- • Each team plays in a 2-3-1 or 3-2-1 formation.
- • Coach plays the ball in to the goalkeeper of the build-up team.
Rules
- • Regain possession in the opposition half and score within 8 seconds: goal counts double.
- • Build-up team always restarts from the goalkeeper.
- • After a goal, the other team restarts build-up play.
Coaching points
- • Striker curves their run to lock play to one side.
- • Trigger spotted? Everyone steps up together, not one by one.
- • Get tight to your direct opponent when the ball travels to your side.
- • Back line steps up together to keep the distances compact.
Variations
- • Easier: Build-up team cannot pass back to the goalkeeper.
- • Harder: Build-up team has a neutral player in midfield.
- • Scoring challenge: Keep a separate count of ball regains within the first 10 metres.
